Stories for a Changing Planet: Climate, Biodiversity and Environmental Storytelling
Our planet is changing, and the signs are becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. Rising temperatures, extreme weather events, floods, disappearing forests, threatened wetlands and declining biodiversity are reshaping the environments we depend on. In Pakistan, these changes are already affecting communities, livelihoods and ecosystems across the country.
But environmental crises are not only scientific or policy challenges. They are also stories about people, places, animals, landscapes and the choices we make about the world we want to leave behind. How we tell these stories can shape public understanding, influence conversations and inspire people to care and act.
This conversation explores the power of environmental storytelling and asks how scientists, conservationists, journalists, filmmakers, writers and citizens can bring the realities of climate change and biodiversity loss closer to the public. What stories are we telling about a changing planet? Whose voices are being heard, and whose are missing? And how can storytelling help turn environmental awareness into meaningful action?
