New Provinces in Pakistan? The Debate Over Administrative Units

New Provinces in Pakistan? The Debate Over Administrative Units

286 286 people viewed this event.

Pakistan has long been organised around four provinces, but the question of whether this structure still serves the country’s needs is once again at the centre of public debate.

Does Pakistan need a new administrative map? Would smaller provinces bring government closer to citizens and make the federation more responsive? Or would creating new units create more problems than it solves?

In this panel discussion, we will examine the arguments on both sides, exploring questions of governance, identity, representation, resources, federalism and the future of Pakistan’s political and administrative structure.
