Bol ke Lab Azad Hain Tere
What does freedom sound like?
Sometimes, it sounds like a question that refuses to disappear. Sometimes, like a poem that gives voice to what people are unable, or afraid, to say. And sometimes, it begins simply with the freedom to think, to speak, to disagree and to imagine a different world.
Bol ke Lab Azad Hain Tere brings together poetry and conversation for an evening exploring the relationship between expression and social freedom.
The session will begin with a mushaira, where poets will share verses that reflect the many emotions, experiences and questions that shape our lives and society. This will be followed by a conversation examining the broader idea of social freedom: What does it mean to be free in our everyday lives? How much space do individuals have to express themselves, make choices and challenge social norms?
From the personal to the political, from the individual voice to the collective experience, the evening will explore how words can become more than words: how they can question, connect, challenge and sometimes even help us imagine freedom itself.
